List 3–6 research questions, and define the success criteria for each. Having a success criteria will help coding the data.

• E.g. : What do users want to click on after they see the notification message?
• Success criteria : wants to click on learn more

☑ Hypotheses and assumptions

• What do stakeholders think about users before research?

☑ Target group

• Who will give us the most relevant answers?

☑ Methodology

• Which methodology is most relevant for this project?
• A simple usability test?
• A tree test?
• A heatmap?
• A survey?
• A comparison study/heuristic review?
• Will this be moderated or unmoderated?
• Remote or in person?

Several methodologies can and should be used for a project, if one cannot answer all questions.
